Did I leave too much space behind my rock structure?

Wrapping up the basic structure of a new tank build.

I feel like I may have left too much space behind the rock structure and the back glass.

This 65g has 18” depth and I feel like I should take advantage of it.

Moving glued structures is always a pain though.

Wondering what you all think and if I should move it while I can now?

I would leave that space behind the structure. My only worry would be that rock up front. Is there enough space to get a good scraper between that rock and the glass? You will want to make sure there is, it makes cleaning the glass MUCH easier.

That’s what I was aiming for. I really wanted a dynamic structure but was also very open and free flowing.

I think I may leave it as is and potentially add in larger rock cuts behind both the far left and center as well as center and far right columns to add depth.

So you would be able to see parts of the rock as you peer into the arches.

Those are not part of the structure, only trying to get some bacteria on them while I wait for the 8oz of fritz turbo I dumped in to do its thing.

My 75g is the same. I have the rockwork in the middle so it gives the fish a raceway to swim around in. If my fish get spooked they can also swim behind the rocks for cover.

If anyone is actually interested, here are some better pictures of the whole scape.

It’s hard to accentuate all of the archways on camera. There are 12 holes and archways in total.

This is roughly 70 lbs of Marcos dry rock.

Lots of large floating shelves on tallest left structure:

The third and topmost archway which has an opening into the center of the center rock structure:

The center has a large opening on the bottom that is not photogenic, it opens into two openings behind the center structure and also the opening up top:

The rightmost structure is a large cave and splits into two openings on the back:

Leave the space.. gives more r9om to swim. My 135 6ft tank i purposely put my rocks more in the middlish. Well not exactly middle but i peft plenty of room in the back for the purpose of the fish being able to swim freely in the back.. this way they can swim 6 feet in front and back without hinderance.

Iike the way you did your rocks. But i am not a fan of too much blue lighting. Its overpowering. I like a more pinkish whitish blue color.. All blue doesnt really bring out the full color of fish or corals

I like to have room. Behind the rock to give fish more hiding spots. It's easy for to forget about flow along back wall. It's a great place for detritus to build up.
