Did I make a big fish less cycle boo boo?

I started my fishless cycle process on Jan17. I have a 50g tank with CarabSea Life Rock and Live Fiji Pink Sand.
I used a 4oz Bottle of Dr.Tims 0ne and only as well as Dr.Tim Ammonia Chloride.

Day 1:
Shook Bottle added bacteria water appears cloudy as instructed. Waited a few minutes to let things settle down and then added 4 drops per gallon as bottle instructed.
Followed testing and added ammonia as directed. All testing looked on track. On day 9 (Add fish Day)
my test results were
pH 7.8
HN3 2.0
NO2 2.0

Due to the high Ammonia and Nitrite i did not add fish and just waited it out.
Day 12 I started to see a drop in Ammonia and by day 14 they read 0.
over the past week my Pers were
pH -8.0
NH3- 0
NO2 -1.0
my nitrates did rise as well.

During a few discussions about my process I had been told that I should have added fish or continued to add ammonia until I saw a spike in nitrite and also confirmed my Ammonia would return to 0 within 24hrs.
My question... we added ammonia today and then it hit me, did i just mess up? should we have just waited? will my adding ammonia hurt the cycle? or will the bacteria just process the ammonia and were right back where we were waiting on the nitrites to drop?
Water test prior to adding ammonia today were as follows.
pH - 8.0
NH3- 0
NO2 -1

The additional ammonia will just get processed away - adding more ammonia is in effect what you are doing every time you put livestock in!
Once your tank shows it can bring ammonia to 0 it should be very responsive to additional ammonia sources

Hey so just wanted to post to let you know that nitrites don't matter (much) in a marine system. Fish, corals etc, are unaffected. And a bit (5-10, or even 10-20 ppm) of nitrates are healthy for the tank.

Typically I'll add fish right as the ammonia cycles out in 24 hours at a dosage to 2ppm. Then add my cuc the day the diatoms start

Thanks! That was kinda my original plan but I didn't want to hurt the fish. A few others told me would be fine as well.

All, before i added the Ammonia the water was kinda cloudy and now I've noticed its starting to get clear! For my knowledge what would cause the change?
