I saw this as a wysiwyg item on a LFS website. To me, it looks just like the JF raja rampage chalice. They only had it marked as "maricultured chalice" and it seemed really inexpensive even if I have to carefully dip and inspect it. That said, it still cost me $115 and I have to explain that to the woman I live with. Can anyone back me up? Was it a good deal or was I ripped off?

This is a Jason Fox raja rampage for sale at WWC in Orlando. It was magnificent! $299 for a 2” perfectly shaped piece.

It's a nice piece and not insane price especially compared to others on the market. The thing is that it depends on what you and the wife can afford. I discuss large tank purchases with the hubby (he's not a reefer but likes the tank ok enough). If we happen to get "extra" money for overtime work, bonuses, tax return etc and I say hey I wanna spend $1000 on the tank bc I know we have that as extra cash he really doesn't care. If we're down to $200 bucks and have to get through the week buying food etc and I wanna spend $100 on the tank he would absolutely be annoyed and seriously ticked if I did it anyway. Of course this applies to our joint account, we also each have personal accounts that we manage as we see fit. He buys classic cars I buy coral... He can't say too much if you catch my drift.
I also feel like so many people have problems justifying these things to their significant others and can't understand it. If you work to make your money, pay your bills etc (basically are providing for yourself and family the way a responsible adult should) I don't see an issue with having some fun with what's left, your the one who works for it after all (this does include working in the home for stay at home parents etc imo). Anyway, if your happy with the purchase and feel it was worth the work you put forth to make the money that's what matters. It's a nice piece, good luck with the wife ;)
