Did I place the coral ok?

Have 3 birdsnest on the top rock. 2 ricordea on each along with those 2 duncans little above them. All zoas at the bottom middle. Pipe oragan to the right and kenya left. Overall aggression and flow/light seem fine?

It should grow in nicely. Then you will have to frag to keep it apart!

So my concerns are two.
The Xenia will overrun the Ricordia, and the tree is going to get really big.
Xenia best on its own, so we can somewhat control it.
All else looks good.

Dont have any xenian in there. And the tree is on its own top rock but thinking of moving lower left to have room for torches or hammers up there

What soft coral is just above the Ricordia, sure looks Xenia to me but is a bit blurry.
It’s fine, Xenia just grows like GSP in terms of speed, and can reseed itself in other parts of your DT.

Looks like xenia to me. That's best to enjoy in someone else's tank. Over run my 120 years ago. Never again.

Coral placement is okay I suppose, but that powerhead placement is iffy at best.

Only the corals know about placement... But I do agree about the comment on powerhead placement. I would put it on a sidewall of the tank, opposed to in the same direction of the return pump flow.

Cant really place power head to the side with jbj lid. Have it so return is moving top and pushing down into low flow into bottom front while powerhead hitting my birdsnest slightly in front of the top rock creating flow behind the structure and breaking some of the return at random due to the module pattern

Dont have ant gsp or xenia, have heard the stories and stayed away. The pipe organ seems great so far and growing rather slowly . Slower then the kenya for sure. And should grow more vertical then spread im hoping

I’d move the Kenya tree off the rock and to a low light corner of the tank. That is, unless you want a Kenya Tree dominated tank. As-is it will grow fast, send out babies, and take over.

Does your Duncan like it’s placement? Do the polyps open and sway? In the photo they are all closed up. Are they like that for a reason or are they like that often?

The kenya tree was one of the first coral i added and now being more into the hobby and learning im planning on moving the kenya to the bottom back right corner. And will plan to place some euphyllia in its place.

the ducan to the right was shipped same time as other but has five heads and is opened up great. The other not as much but assuming its not as old or settled yet(only been a week)

The ricordea opens and moves nice.
My favia at the bottom has always worried me when bought at the store it had 3 full rings then after some time placed in mine it lost that one half but seems to be growing 2 or three more on top towars the light so ive just been hoping it’s redirecting itself to the light.
Same with the psammocora it was bleaching on its lower sides but once moved lower like the favia it begin to regain growth but very slowly.

lastly is my 1 of three birdsnest. Purple polyp bn didnt look so hot from the start after shipping. Asummed stress. Already sticking it on top and not adjust him to light at the bottom i just lowered brightness and left him at the top. Things got worse when i was cleaning/wc and knock him off the plug. So reglued the frag to the plug. Now its bleaching from the top but also growing brown hair looking algae from lower tip

Birdsnest is on the lower light side of SPS. If it’s bleaching, immediately remove it, put it on a plug and put it either in the sand or on a frag rack. They are typically very robust and should come back after a while. They like medium-strong random flow so that they get puffy and every few seconds you see the polyps shake or sway.
A whole week of a closed Duncan would concern me and I’d be trying to figure out if I should give it less light or more flow or whatever, but doing nothing is often a good option in this hobby.

Good luck, don’t stress, think of it as an experiment from which you will learn a whole bunch.

So did some rearranging. Moved the kenya to bottom right. Brought down my birdsnest to recover in the sand bed. Moved the other ducan that didnt seem to open as much next to the other. And adjusted powerhead like mentioned above. Changed my favites to the sand bed in front bc wasnt looking as full from when i got him gonna see if theres a difference here. Lmk how i did. Also splurged on a torch and 2 clove polyps. Plaining on putting both cloves in both front corner sand bed and opened up the main rock where the kenya was at for the torch and eventually more euphyllia. What you think?
