Did LFS mis label my pistol shrimp.

Hello readers,

I had purchased a pistol shrimp from an LFS 5 months ago. When I bought it, it was a grayish blue color. I thought it was discolored due to stress. I waited and waited for that rich tan brown color your supposed to see on Tiger Pistol shrimps. It has been paired with my watchman and gone through at least 7 molts and still hasn't regained color. I though I didn't have enough iodine or calcium etc. But I'm able to raise SPS just fine such as birdsnwst and monties.

Could my LFS falsely labeled my shrimp?

The color that you are describing is the most common color but I have seen many different shades, including your color. It certainly is a pistol shrimp, but I can't verify the exact species. From the look on your YWG, I don't think that he could live without that shrimp. Great picture!

That isn't a Bellus pistol shrimp but is obviously a symbiotic species and looks very cool.
