Hi! I ordered three Springeri damsels since I wanted some movement and colour in the tank, but I am fairly certain my LFS sent the wrong fish?
The damsels I got are a blue colour with some lighter colours on the underside and they have a distinct black dot on the tailfin, something I have never seen in Springeri damsels before.
I am worried they sent me chrysiptera taupou or Crysiptera cyanea whitch is the exact opposite of what I want in my reef..
Can I get some help with a positive id before I take action, I would appreciate it!

From the picture they do look like Crysiptera cyanea, I have 7 Springer Damsels and they look like this. They have some black or dark blue markings all over

Thanks for the reply! Now I have three fish I absolutely dont want in my reef and nowhere to put.. This is not the first time they mess up, I am so fed up with ordering fish online and recieving the wrong livestock.

Bring them back to the LFS and let them know it’s not what you ordered. Shouldn’t be an issue with that.

They where shipped by a fish store thats too far away for me to return them, so into the sump they go unfortunatly. I dont want any fish or livestock to get stressed, but I cant put a fish I dont want, that are notoriously hard to remove and have a reputation for getting aggressive knto my reef.

Were they QT?

Yep, sump is fine. Don't risk your display.

There are two different ones kind of.
Solid blue is supposed to be a true Spriner's not the black blotched one.

According to the Article I posted those are not true springeri.
closely related though. Personally I like the look of those better.

Looking at the OPS I do not think it is either of them. It looks like it might be Chrysiptera cyanea.

I’ve seen those labeled springers before, my LFS keeps them and the regular fish I associated with being a springers in their frag tank to get rid of flatworms.

The fish store confirmed they sent the wrong fish and apologised, I get three Springeri damsels today! :)

Love those dudes. Other than my four stripe (my particular fish, most of them are awful murder biscuits) they’re the most chill damsel IMO. They also eat the crap outta pests without the Six-line wrasse pension for murder
