Did you’re Ich treatment work?

As everyone who’s gone through it knows, there are a million opinion on this.

Some say that one does/does not work and vice versa for the rest.

I am wanting to pose my scenario for opinion and just want to know what the consensus is!

My story started with a yellow tang (Yes I know, classic) then the rest of the DT.

I freshwater dipped and stuck it in a QT with copper, 2 weeks later I had to do the same for the rest of my fish.

Unfortunately I had to share the same QT.
The tank gets weekly 50% water changes.
Fish look great and the last sign of ich on a fish was over a week ago

I will start dosing the DT with Ruby Kick-ich today and plan to do so until the treatment is finished.

So the DT has been fallow for two weeks and I’m hoping to put the yellow tang back in about two weeks which would mean the tangs been in copper for 6 weeks and the display would have been fallow for 4 weeks( 2 of which has been Ruby Kick-ich treated)

As far as my research goes, this should be fine however I’d like to hear if someone’s done similar with poor results or maybe with less of a process!!

I have read it! However, as far as I can remember he/she never used Kick-ich which has a bit underground following from what I have seen

Personally I don't kick-ich really works at eradicating ich and think you are taking a risk. while you have the fish out I would agree with smo to keep the DT fishless for a min 76 days and then add your fish.

If Kick-ICH worked—everyone would be using it. The only consistent method to rid your DT of ICH is to allow it to remain fallow for the recommended 76 days. There are no reliable medications to treat ICH in your DT without also killing off your inverts and likely permanently contaminating your rock work. Your fish, of course, need to be treated in a QT at least 10’ away with either Cu (most prefer Coppersafe) or CP. TTM works too.

I have personally and read more who have had success with dosing metroplex with focus in frozen them anything else. I would also suggest vitamin C to also help with the systems immune systems.

I know we are all scheptics but there are a lot of really good reviews out there for Kick-ich, I believe it’s not a product that directly kills the ich.. rather it stops them attatching - essentially acting upon the 76day method...

Kick ich does not work, unfortunately. Tried it and have monitored the disease forum long enough to know, IMO
