The thing is with QT it's less about growth and more about sustainability. So short answer, yes light will work. I do think with 4xT5s you will see some growth and good color to, but it will really take off once in your DT

Incredible sir. I still see some prime real estate for tanks under those couches and such

What do you guys think of these bulbs for the frag qt?
This is what is in the 4 bulb light and the other 3 are spares I have for it.
Do I need to get other bulbs??Blues or something for coral to grow?

Tank will be very white with those. So if you want color or pop in the QT you will want to add the actinic as 1.
Personally I use ATI bulbs. Coral plus blue plus they have some really good visuals to show what different combos look like on their website.

Yup 6500k is daylight. 10k is more crisp white. 14k is a very nice blue white. actinic are those blue blue blue colors that make the colors pop.

I would ditch the 6500k for actinic and leave the 10ks.

it's not rust growing, that's for sure. Some sort of algae. Perhaps part of the diatom family. I wouldn't sweat it.

Well, we turned off the lights and did a water change, it seems to have halted the growth for now.
