Diefs 120 Peninsula

dotty died???
Yup Dotty went to Fishy heaven tonight. We fed them and she took a big piece, started going in circles then I guess choked. She stopped moving and we could see the food stuck in her mouth, after we realized she wasn’t moving anymore, I tried to get her moving around with a small net. No go, then pulled her out and removed the little bit of food I could grab but she never moved again.

Have a question for the collective..

I cut a hole in the bottom of the sump for original design but no longer need it. Will a Bulkhead and plug be good enough, or do I need to silicone a glass patch?? I'm even willing to drill a hole in the cabinet below it to accommodate the bulkhead if needed just so I dont have to wait for silicone to cure again.

@fishguy242 Frank do you think a bulkhead will be enough or I need to bit the bullet and patch?

is that a crack?? or just refection??

cool..two choices, silicone 2 patches 2 seperate times let inside one cure first ,then do outside.
not my choice of options... ;)
;Happybulk it...female/female thread ,would be best imo..

My plan was slip/slip and glue a plug in the in-tank side

future"options" with threaded ;)

Ah I gotcha.. Every piece of threaded plumbing I've put together so far has leaked and I'm getting frustrated chasing leaks. As always thx for the help!!

Off to get some work done and I'll post update pics later;);)

wrap them tight with teflon tape, not thick ,tight, to just above threads ;)

Thx! Hope all is going well with you. Gonna be a beautiful day around this area!

Yes, the weather has been fantastic today! Things are going well, other than my tank (fish) drama! Keeps me busy, I guess.

Plumbing was put to the side yet again.;Shifty;Shifty Had to do a 5 gal water change on the qt which took longer then I had expected but it got done so all good. My wife decided we needed to get the canopy started so the stain and polly can dry before we bring it in the house. Guess shes right;Wacky;Wacky
Spent Sunday getting all the cuts done and yesterday sanding. Going to start the staining today.

Were also working on aquascape for the 120. My darling wife does all the designing and I get to knead all the putty:p

Working from right to left so about 1/4 puttied up so far. The white rock is CarbiSea Base rock and I would not buy again. Its very chalky and hard to glue:( Anyway more to come on scape later.

Gotta get this staining done so I can plumb plumb plumb;);)

Oh I did get the bulkhead plug in the sump installed.
Not a single threaded bulkhead in the house so I ended up with this. Glued piece of pipe and cap and flipped bulkhead so I didn't have to drill hole in the stand. I put a gasket on both sides of the glass. Think that will hold??
About a 1/16 between bulkhead and stand below tank.;Facepalm;Facepalm

Great progress so far! I think I'm all caught up.

I have to be careful on my own setup design to plan before buying/working/installing and then set my mind to not change the plan! (especially when I get to stocking with fish...)
@Soren Like you, I've been going slow due to a lot of remodel and projects on the house. Its been a year now since I started and many things have changed.:):) I get a plan in my head and my wife has another;) Not sure why she always wins :p:p Worse thing so far was the extra drilled holes in 2 tanks. I was excited to drill my first tank hole as well;) but now I don't need it. Oh well, if I make my life challenging it keeps me young right:cool:

Put the first coat of stain on the 120 Canopy yesterday. Will do a light sanding and second coat today.
Was able to get some vacation time so will spend the rest of the week working on the setup. Maybe get a tank plumbed!!!
