Need another ID...what's growing on this snail?

Sorry for the horrible pic, I'll try to get one with the real camera.
Could be mermaids cup or a type of caulerpa that is nasty. Would need to see cup, but either way, it needs to do. Remove from snail, take some peroxide on a rag and dab on shell. Let sit for 5 minutes. Rinse out of tank with some old tank water.

Thanks! Bout to go tackle some aptasia, we'll have to get on that as well.

That would be an umbrella. Must have been calling for rain today.

GRRRRR, all I want to do is move these to the display!!!!

Been since Christmas every time we go to move the coral out of QT something else needs to be done..

Oh well, thats the hobby we're in
Clip it off and get me a pic of the cup. If it’s mermaid cup, you can put in sump and it will be fine. Doesn’t go sexual or grow via fragments.

Mermaids cup. Acetabularia crenulata

This type non invasive but typically eaten by herbivores before it can grow. I would sump it or if no tangs, put on a rock island in the dt. It grows slow and is easily dealt with if wanted.

if you had tangs, I would say sump or trash, as small bits can regrow, but again, it is not crazy invasive.

Would also still scrub snail too.

But that algae is acceptable for DT if you want.

Rich decided to move the whole snail to the cube sump ;Hilarious

Nooooo. That macro must be planted in order to thrive. it also needs quite a bit of light lol.
well.... I dont have any light on the sumps at the moment and was killing aiptasia so figured it could grow or not in the sump for the moment. Dont really want to cultivate in DT so as my old boss used to say, If it cant take it, it cant stay

We moved hmm, 8 or 9 coral from qt to display. Killed/removed 3 aiptasia and dont see anymore at the moment.
Had to peroxide dip because of algea so will see how the Acan and Leather do.
TDief will have to take some more pics later..

Thx for all the help folks!
