Difference between aquarium nori and human nori?

From what I understand it's basically the same thing. Just make sure they dont add anything to it. Heck, my friend came over once and starting eating my fish food brand nori and I had to tell him to stop eating my fish food XD

Just stay away from the baked and you should be fine! Baking it removes some of the nutrients from what I have read in the past.

Nori or sheet seaweed is traded on the international market based on a few factors. It is graded on things such as harvest area, palatability, vibrance, color, thickness, etc. There are also different species of seaweed. For instance we only package and sell Porphyra yezoensis which is sourced from a certified harvest area in Japan. This species of seaweed is very nutritious with numerous vitamins and minerals. We found this supplier since they import the highest grade seaweed for the production of sushi. There can be vast differences in quality when comparing seaweed from Japan, China and Korea. The higher grades of seaweed come with certified lab tests to show the seaweed is free from pollutants or contaminants.
I would think any unflavored sheet seaweed you find for human consumption would be suitable for your fish. Seaweed is certainly one of those products which varies widely in price, both in the retail and bulk packs as seen online. If you have luck with the bulk pack seaweed then by all means do what's best for your budget. Aquarium fish can certainly tell the difference in taste with the higher grade seaweed so if you aren't having any luck with a picky eater you can try another brand and see if it helps. Good luck!

not a picky eater, its a yellow tang thats in qt.
So far Has eaten almost everything i have fed it. Besides various frozen foods I have been using Porphyra umbilicalis sheets as i had on hand for making laver flour. Slightly different taste by our pallets but has been eating it quite greedily. As well as sourced from the US so i can actually read the label lol.

While on sourcing location and so everyone enjoys their holiday.
US East coast sourced sea urchin might be the most foul tasting substance I have ever eaten. If eating sushi this thanksgiving ask where the Uni came from lol.

As a guy with a freezer full of LRS foods, I'm not going to argue with @ReefFrenzy over nutrition... I'm certain he knows far more than I do on the subject. I can assure you, my fishes LOVE LRS's frozen foods, and I'm going to keep buying them.

Unique thread. Thanks for starting it. I am a huge fan of nori for our herbivores and must admit I have no idea from where it is sourced.
My son the Asian linguist informs me that this product is Korean -- by label anyway. If that matters to anyone.
Haha! Just looked at the back of the label. Big revelation there. "Product of Korea" in English.

I just buy the roasted ones from any asian market. Make sure there's no oil or added salt, just roasted seaweed/laver. It's like $2-3 for ten large sheets; or you buy a 30 pack for like $5.

Is that traditional sushi roll size or small snack size? If it's traditional, large sheets, that's cheap, but expensive if snack size.
