Hello!

I’m curious if anyone knows what the difference (aside from physical design) is between the Jebao CW and PU series UV sterilizers.

I’m considering the 36 watt unit, as I’ve had good luck with their 55 watt in the past. I vaguely remember someone mentioning this before in the past, and that one of them might have been more likely to corrode in saltwater? My memory is a bit fuzzy and I couldn’t find the old post.

Any answers or feedback is greatly appreciated!

I have the PU design. It does leech something (maybe degraded plastic?), but I wipe it out ever couple months, and haven't had an issue with it.

Seems like the only real difference is how the bulb is accessed? Both seem to be made of the same material.

Does it have a black dusting/coating inside the housing after a few months of use? I think that’s what I saw from the post I mentioned, and the consensus was that is was the paint/plastic breaking down.

Yes it does, but as I said, I wipe it out every few months, and haven't had an issue with it in 2 years.

Not sure if the other doesn't do the same thing? They look to be the same housing design. Would think it's probably made of the same material.
