Difference between Pokerstar and Rainbow Montiporas?

I was just wondering if someone could explain the difference between Pokerstar and Rainbow montiporas? I have both of them in my tank but they are still regaining coloration (just changed out bulbs). In most pictures I see online they look very similar.

dont the pokerstars have green polyps all the way including new growth around while the rainbow has green yellow and orange polyps(new growth is orange)?

I think both have the same polyps color combination. The difference is the base. But I think, Pokerstar has a purple base while the Rainbow has a blue base.

Rainbow has a purple base like the superman and the pokerstar has green polyps with blue base.

I thought true Supermans are supposed to have a blue base?? Just looked at my two and the Rainbow has a blue base while the Pokerstar has a purplish base, although they are still coloring up from the bulb change. Is the base coloration the only difference in these two corals?

Ok, so a true Pokerstar monti is blue/purple base with only green polyps then? I was sure that pokerstars had orange polyps too... Or maybe thats just from people mixing them up all the time lol..

I have a Pokerstar from Dr. Mac at pacific east aquaculture and it has orange polyps (new growth) green polyps everywhere else.. The base is a cool greenish blue.. Ill post a pic tomm.

the pokerstar monti from my understanding was from originally from anthony.aka skinnychinaman on RC. he owed an LFS. and a web site(can not remember names sorry) sold it all and moved on. the pokerstar name came from when he won some poker tourney. it seemed like a year later though many aquacultured montis can in with different variations. i currently have 3. i guess i should get out my camera.

FWIW, I've had several different AC piece of each of the three and all showed the full range of colors at different times (sometimes the superman, sometimes the rainbow, and sometimes the pokerstar). I thought that was interesting. Of course, none of them compare to the true SM Monti... Three different AC SM Monti's and the true one side by side for over a year. Hands down tSM...

Ok well it looks like I have 1 Tyree Rainbow Monti and two other Rainbow Montis (were sold to me as Pokerstars though).

I do have a TRUE Superman Monti, and I have to say, it is beautiful...

Time to get a TRUE POKERSTAR now lol!
