I recently just purchase two black and white clownfish, about 3/4-1 inch in size. LFS just got flurry and frostbite clownfish in stock, which are about 1 1/12-2 inches big. They do not offer returns on the two black and white clownfish, but do you think it would be okay to buy one of the flurry or frostbite clownfish? I have a 32 biocube. Other tank mates are a goby and six-line wrasse. Thank you

Adding a third clown to the 32?

That won't end well for one of the three.

If you want to swap one out, that can work. Folks report mixing occ and perc.

Yeah thats almost what i was thinking. I just didn't know since they were different species of clownfish if that would matter or not

As far as I'm aware, both "flurry" and "frostbite" clowns are named color variations of Amphiprion ocellaris - and they're the same species of clownfish. (Kind of like golden retrievers and daschunds are different varieties of dog, but still all Canis familiaris - dogs.)

Agree that the "third wheel" is going to come in for some grief - some folks have had success with "harem" arrangements of a dozen or so clowns, but other than that, more than a pair is unlikely to end well.

Any more than a pair of ocellaris or percula variety clowns in a 32 gallon will not end well. You would need a much larger tank. You also have a ticking time bomb in your tank in the form of a 6 line wrasse.
