Different kinds of rock

I'm looking at getting rock for my 55 that I am just starting and have found the best prices at Bulk Reef Supply. They have multiple different kinds of rock and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. Choices include: Pukani, Fiji, Reef Saver and Tonga.

Tonga is really nice with Fiji for the base but if you have the money buy a mix and use the best looking pieces.

they are all good choices, unless you have a specific design in mind, I would mix them , just my opinion,

I like the pukani, it's extremely porous and can be carved out to make caves, tunnels, etc. plus it's lightweight so you get more for your money

I found a rock that seems highly porous and have read that when aquascaping it interlocks so well that epoxy is needed very little if at all. The 3 companies I am looking into are Marine Depot, Bulk Reef Supple and Marco rock. Any experience with these? Also, they say these rocks can be added to existing reef aquariums, does that mean they do not need to be cured?

The pukani I got from BRS definitely had to be cured first, as most anything that previously had live organisms will need curing

I have a 25 lb piece of Pukani that took me forever to cure. I loved hearing shells and whatnot rattling around in it. That's the bad boy right in the middle. I was going for a "trophy case" aquascape for this 75 lol.

The reef saver rock is what I have pretty much decided and they say it comes to them soaked and rinsed. It is actually mined in Florida and not harvested from the ocean
