I'm still trying to get my 75 up and going. I bought an Eshopps Eclipse L overflow and have had lots and lots of problems with bulkhead leaks. I now need a replacement for two 1" bulkheads, so I ordered some off of BRS and low and behold they don't fit. Both are indeed 1" bulkheads, but the ones that came with the unit are almost 1/2" narrower diameter than the new ones and won't fit in the holes. Also, the threaded part won't fit through the holes - although it's really, really close.

So, now that I know there are different types of 1" bulkheads, where can I source the proper ones? I've tried contacting Eshopps, but frankly, they don't answer. I've tried email and phone to no avail.

Possibly proprietary bulkheads. Read the reviews on BRS. One guy dremeled the holes to get the BRS bulkheads to fit. I prefer the Lifeguard bulkheads over the BRS ones, better gasket and thicker, but some of them are a little bigger than the equivalent BRS ones.

I could widen the holes a tiny bit to get the threads to fit through (if I have something to work on acrylic) but that won't solve the problem with the flange being 1/2" too wide. I'm stumped. I guess I'm going to have to look into a different overflow that won't have the variety of issues this one has had. I'm definitely not going to buy another one of these things.

I doubt they're proprietary as it would cost thousands to come up with the mold. Why do that when you can just use an existing part?

Some vendors will have the dimensions of the bulkheads listed or even a drawing or 3D model. The correct size bulkheads are out there, somewhere...

I'm sure they are, but I think I've come up with a better solution anyway. I'm going to use the internal overflow box, then just have 1.5" pvc come down to the sump. No external box, and quite a bit simpler to plumb. Of course that means having to buy new stuff at the bigger size lol
