So it has not been a good couple of days, the tutorials I followed haven't worked, wasted a lot of time, effort and money, stressed the hell out of my poor fish and coral and rather than being back at square one I seem to be two steps back from where I started. Really considering throwing in the towel, mostly out of frustration.

Need some words of encouragement guys. How do you all pick yourselves up again after a reefing tragedy like this? (My tank is still supporting life, just as an fyi.)

I’ve had tank crashes a couple times . Once with my main and once with a nano id set up for SPS. Solved the nano by giving the cleaned up tank to friend who now has seahorses in it. My main display well, after briefly cursing the gods that sent me down this merry trip of a hobby, I just tried again and right now is mostly where I want it(aside from the swathes of aiptasia) . The way I look at it whether you have a salty tank or even a freshwater challenges will happen and you’ve sometimes just gotta push through and take the good that’s already there.
And yes what’s going on with the tank right now?

Plumbing issues, lots of water everywhere and my own attempts to try and sort it have been thwarted.
Does not sound pleasant. Bummer! Any local reefer that can help? Any pics so someone on here can provide some guidance? I’m no plumbing expert but I’m sure with an explanation and some pics, someone could point you in the right direction. How big is the tank?

I don't think so, though I don't know many reefers about me if I am honest.
I have worked out a fix which is sub optimal but is the best I can do with the funds I have available and i am just waiting on parts to arrive. Unfortunately living in the UK means I have a bit more limited options particularly as I cannot spend anymore on this issue this month.
I did go to my LFS for advice and help and while their suggestion would fix the entire issue it is also £200 and wouldn't be here until the middle to end of the month.

Set backs and a lack of funds are tough. Been there on multiple occasions. Do I get the gear I want or do I pay my car payments. Lol. Honestly nothing in the hobby goes fast take it nice and easy. Seeing a $100 frag rtn is heartbreaking. But set backs happen to all of us. Keep your chin up it gets better.
