I'm interested who is running one? Please let me know good and bad. I have been thinking of switching up to one... Any input appreciated....

There are a few beta testers on this forum as well as another couple users. I'm one of the beta testers and have had mine since Christmas last year. The device has come a long way from where it started and still has in my opinion a ways to go before it is perfect. The parts that I like most about it is the fact that it is completely web-based allowing me to easily access it and program it from my phone my tablet my computer from anywhere I am. I also like the fact that it will be cloud-based very soon to allow me even easier access to it. I had a large ReefKeeper elite system prior and every single one of my modules work with the new controller. The only exceptions were the net module and the main controller had because they are not needed. The controller is very easy to program in my opinion and is actually easier to manipulate than other Digital aquatics products. If you read the forums you will see good things and bad things about all of the controllers n even customer service with any of the manufacturers. I also like the fact that they are con is both wireless and wired without having to get a separate module or anything extra. It again makes for a very easy install.

If you were looking to see more about it I have a post on this board as well as some other reforms of videos that I have made of me programming and walking through my controller. I have plans to make more but just have not had the time.

I am also one of the beta testers for the Archon. I upgraded from the RKE to the Archon in December. I would not want to go back to the RKE after using the Archon. I also think it is a lot easier to program than the RKE. All my modules will work with the Archon except the RKE head unit and NET module. They plan on firmware to turn the RKE head unit into a remote display. The ALC will work for the DIM ports and lunar pods. The SDO output is not 100% at this time but that output only works with AI fixtures anyway. The Archon itself has 4 0-10 volt outputs along with 2 PWM outputs. It also has 4 switch inputs along with 2 pH or ORP inputs which are switchable. It also has an iTemp input. The best part is the built in WIFI it can also be hardwired if needed. Even the old SL2 module will work with the Archon for the time being. It may not be supported when they switch to Archon firmware on the modules. At this point the modules only have to have the RKE/RKL firmware.

Shall we go for three?? I too am a Archon beta tester and have been a beta tester with DA since the RKE system was first released in July of 2008. The biggest plus to the Archon is the way it is programmed and setup. While it is very user friendly out of the box, it also has the back end that allows for many changes to be made and features to be added. If you are a programmer sort of guy you can customize many things on it. A very large part of the system is user accessible for customization. I really like it and with a very small amount of time it is a drop in replacement for a current RKE or RKL system.

Before you get one you may want to take a hard look at DA and the quality of the support they offer.
Harry_Y,

I agree, our service has not been the best, and many other companies have gone through this issue with growth and changes in the company. We are trying to turn around our service while producing new, innovative products.
Digital Aquatics has brought in a new and exciting sales manager, and finally some production help, so that I can focus on the customer service side and look at bringing in more qualified candidates. We want people that are passionate about a - the hobby, and b - the capabilities of a controller on a system.

Having someone that is an ex-team DA member bashing us that does not even use our products is not going to help.

How can I become a beta tester? I love to tinker and have a networking background :)

If you are truly sincere about wanting to turn around your image
then the place to start is by servicing your existing customers

How about starting by returning phone calls and answering your phones. I'm constantly having those problems.

We have completed our phone change over, allowing us to go to a VOIP system that is more reliable in our are. Please not that we try to return voice mails within 12-24 hours, but can not return calls if a clear, precise message is not left.

What about when I've gotten someone on the phone and they say that they will return my call with an answer but they never do?
(i.e. - Eric had told me one time that he would work on some firmware for my APC module and to call him back in about 2 days. I called him back in about 3 days and he didn't answer. I tried again the next day and no answer. I then called one of the people on the sales line and she said that he was there and she would give him the message and he would return my call. This was more than 6 months ago and I never received a call back.)

Abinder,

I did not say we are perfect. A lot of companies go through changes and growth, and have issues with customer service. Companies that are in this industry and one this board are not exempt from this. This is why we are implementing different ways of doing our customer service, adding more people to the team, and improving our systems. We want to be able to take care of the end customer, but again, it does not happen over night.

Would also like to be a tester. 40 years in communications industry. Been to Lake Stevens years ago visiting sister-in-laws.
