Hello fellow reefers,

Can anyone recommend a good reliable ph digital tester, I have defective colour vision so struggle to read colour test kits. After starting a thread and talking to other members on here I have now ordered hanna checkers for alk, phosphate and calcium, but also want to purchase a reliable ph tester.

Thanks in advance

Dom

Pinpoint ph meter is pretty good and reliable. You will have to calibrate ~monthly or so regardless of which one you get.

If you don’t want to spend that much you can get a cheap one on amazon for ~$20 that will work well too. Just again make sure to calibrate.

Sorry for the newbie question, how do you calibrate?

You'll need to buy calibration fluid. Dip the probe for about a minute until the reading stabilizes (shake gently to get rid of the bubbles) and make adjustments on the meter usually with a small screw.
