After all these years I think I’m getting tired of the refractometer And willing to invest in something far easier and accurate.
What’s the latest and greatest??
Budget $125.00

I have the American Pinpoint monitor. My refractometer is far more accurate than the monitor. If you use it with battery just to check, it is ok as long as it is calibrated correctly. As a monitor, I don't recommend it. I have it in my sump with AC adapter and constantly fluctuate. It is prone to interferences as well specially with light on ( I.e ballast)

Honestly, nothing beyter than a good quality refractometer for periodic check.

I may try a salinity probe on my RK at some point but I can't really justify the cost.

I haven't seen anything negative so far, all good. Just giving you another option....
FWIW, I have a lot of icecap products and have never had a problem

I too used to be s long time icecap user.
Great company. A good product to think about. Especially since it’s got the temperature built-in. It’s great for making up water change water. It tests the salinity and the temperature before you’re ready to go.
