New to SPS and decided to start cheap and easy. So went with a montipora digitata.

recently noticed it turning white at the base near the glue. I admit I’m terrible at gluing and aquascaping in general. Not sure if the glue caused this die off/bleaching. Or if this is RTN. Is this something to be very concerned about or is this minor? Any advice or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

2months, nitrate and phosphate are a little high, due to a battle with dinos.

calcium 420
Alk 8.0
Ph 8.2

will be doing a water change later today.

so except for the base where it’s white the rest of it is looking great. When the lights come on. Plenty of polyps and nice red coloring. Tips are white and green skin, with new polyps showing up all the time. So I think as a whole it’s healthy. Just concerned about that bottom section.

When this happens to my SPSs, I take them out of the tank and dip in Dr Gs Reef Dip. Have had good success in saving corals with this by following the directions.

When dipping, check for black bugs - tiny, tiny black dots. If you notice them, increase flow after putting the coral back.

Thanks! I do have a rfg nozzle coming today, so hopefully that will help with the flow.
