So I just found out (thanks to the help of some people here) that I have some colonial hydroids in my tank. I did some research and I think I can win the fight against them. But then.... I noticed these (see picture). Any idea what these are? Are they more pest hydroids?

I am very concerned and think I may just start removing the rock. It sucks because I have good sponge growth and coralline algae on them...

Not digitate but definitely a hydroid.

Branching hydroids.

@KJ thanks for the ID. Do you know where I can get more info on them? I found another thread Searching branching hyroids doesn't return much.

Mainly, are they harmful to corals and fish. I know most or all hyroids sting to varying degrees.

I know there are a few nudibranchs that only feed on hydroids, but it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
