Hey everyone, the last 4 or 5 months, my tank has had a small outbreak of digitate hydroids. I have looked everywhere online and there seems to be a ton of conflicting information out there on what allows them to appear in a tank, how to get rid of them, and even whether or not they hurt corals. Does anyone have experience with these guys and maybe have some tips on eliminating them?

When they show up in my tank, I kept an eye on them and if and when they spread to a location where they could start irritating or completing with my coral. I pull out the item they where on. With an RODI bath I scrubbed it with a tooth brush. Rinsed really well with more RODI. Put back in the tank. Then I cut back on the amount of feed, ammino acids, and phytoplantkon I was dosing. Then wait for them to die out. Tanks a month or three with this method but generally works with the least amount of effort.
