Digitial electronic devices to check water chemistry

Ok, so in my never ending pursuit to simply this hobby I've been researching electronic, digital testing equipment. With my digital electonic specific gravity meter I routinely check salinity in a matter of secs. So .... I been looking around and noticed that Hanna makes digitial phosphate, Alk & Ca colorimeters that they call 'checkers':

but what about these:

which are also from Hanna and also require the use of reagents; and are called 'photometers' and cost 4 times as much?

In summary, Hanna makes colorimeters to check Ca, Alk & Phosphate and photometers for Nirtate & Phosphate ... so besides the price tag, what's the difference between these? Is one any better than another?​

The hanna checkers are vey accurite and work well. either one is fine.

if the checkers are accurate tehn I see no need to pay 4 times that amount for a photoimeter ... hopefully they will come out with a Mag checker as well & I'll be all set ... thx

the low range photometer you will need to do some math to convert the results that reefers use my friend has one and that is only difference is the math.

and it's 4 times the price of their 'checkers' (colorimeters)
