Dilution Calculation: Seachem Flourish Phosphorus

I'd like to dilute the Seachem Flourish Phosphorus additive to use on a doser.

Would someone check my dilution calculation/estimations, please? Sorry for my "word problem" format, but it is just how I am best able to mentally process the question, and I really don't want to overdose this stuff.

The bottle says 1.6 ml will increase phosphates in 20 gallons of water by 0.1 ppm.

Using a 500 ml bottle of Flourish Phosphorus, if I dilute it in half by mixing the whole bottle with 500 ml of RODI water, the dosage changes to: 1.6 ml to raise 20 gallons of water by 0.05 ppm. Correct?

Then, if I dilute that in half again by adding another liter of RODI (1500 ml of RODI total), the dosage changes to: 1.6 ml to raise 20 gallons of water by 0.025 ppm. Correct?

And lastly, if I dilute that in half again by adding another two liters of RODI (3500 ml of RODI total), the dosage changes to: 1.6 ml to raise 20 gallons of water by 0.0125 ppm. Correct?

Thanks for sharing that link! It closely matches the dosage mentioned on the bottle, 1.7 instead of 1.6 ml as written on the bottle. I didn't see any way to address dilution of the additive though. Thanks all the same!

I am not sure this is correct. You'd need to ask the manufacturer. Mathematically it seems correct - whether the product 'works' that way is another issue. Sometimes - the concentration that the manufacturer chooses to use is the one that 'works' the best.

It is correct. The manufacturers optimal dose would not impact the simple chemistry math of dilution. [emoji3]

Thats why he is the expert. For the sake of discussion - its not an endless process (dilution) - at some point the molecules wont 'touch'.
