Hello all, looking for input on how to light some nano tanks with dimmable T5s.

I am setting up two 12" cube tanks. The tanks are on a stand that's 30" long (6" of space between the tanks). On my larger tanks I am very happy with the ATI dimmable T5s, but the only ATI option for these tanks would be the 36" fixture which seems overkill for my lighting needs (plus would be quite expensive).

Are there any other ways I could light these tanks with dimmable T5s? These are not reef tanks so the intensity need not be too much (a maximum of 150 umol PAR at substrate would be plenty).

Does it need to be dimmable? or are you looking to have less output? Maybe a terrarium hood (Zoomed/Reptisun etc) with a 50/50 bulb would be a cheap and clean aproach for your purposes, there{re socket bulbs 50% actinic and 50% daylight

I'm looking for it to be able to be dimmed on a schedule to emulate sunrise/sunset. That is my favorite part about the ATI fixture. I find it really makes a difference in how the livestock behave.

The two tanks will be 6" apart. Would hanging a 24" fixture result in one side of each tank being under-lit?
Not much, the reflectors will help with this, but i wouldn't think of it as a sore in the eye....PAR wise expect lower numbers in the edges, but visually no difference that you can see

If the spilled light between the tanks bothers you, you can always put a dark strip un the area that blocks light and is concealed un the fixture
