I have an arctic t-247 light for my 40 gallon breeder. I have seen that it's a good idea to slowly raise the percentage as to not bleach corals etc. any rule of thumb for how slowly it should be raised and at what percentage do I start at? Is this also true for acclimating fish to the lighting as well?

Most would start out at like 30% and reaise it 10% every week until desired lighting is reached.
You don't have to worry about acclimating the fish to the light.

Id start out with 30 om both, then when you gdt it up a bit you can fiddle with what color you want to dominate.

Depends on the coral, but in a nut shell, yes. Or you could put the coral in a shaded portion of the tank at the bottom, and slowly bring it out into more light each week.
