Hello all

Does anybody dim the intensity of their lights in the evening? Maybe an hour or two before lights go off?

Would this replicate natural daylight into nighttime etc?..

If anybody does. Are there any Pros/Cons to it?

Cheers everyone!

I do this I actually have both my kessil Ap9x turning on and dimming to off with the sun outside that way it replicates it as much as possible, I have not noticed any downsides to this and my corals actually have a good sarcadian rhythm going and you can actually seen them starting to close up just before the lights are about to go out

My white channel turns off 2 hours before the blues. I do this to give the fish a signal that hey its close to bed time, and then the 2nd light turns off 5 minutes before the last. I find that when the tank suddenly goes black the fish freak out and this makes them MUCH calmer

All of my lights have a ramp-up and ramp-down setting. From moonlight to sunlight over about 2 hours and 2 hours back down. Seems to work pretty well for my tanks.
I use the ramp up and down also and feel like it is a gentle way to wake up the fish lol :p

I’m in the ramp club, I have all four lights dim in succession following the sun where I’m at, east side comes on first and goes off forest…. Don’t know that it helps, but can’t hurt to replicate nature. 100% opinion based

I suspect there will be more people that ramp their lights up and down than there will be that don't. Mine ramp up and down but I didn't on my last lights because they were black boxes and didn't have the capability.
