Hi I have had this dimond goby in my tank few months now. And he's doing what he does by messing the sand bed up. Witch is causing my tank water to be not clear. I am running pads and filter Sox. Is there anything else I can do and will all the fine sand ever settle down?

Welcome to the world of diamond watch gobies. I dont think your problem will go away without changing to a more coarse sand and/or lowering your flow.

If it is just fine dust and you do not have a DSB you could vacuum out portions of your sand (say a bit each week). That should eventually eliminate the clouds.

Its doing its job getting all the fine stuff up. I had a sand storm for the first few weeks. After that all the fine stuff was up and filtered out. Now when he cleans all the sand just falls back down. It will go away!

Yea I think it's starting not to be as bad. Thanks for ur time!

It dissipates over time; initially it will kick up a bunch but it will become less and less prevalent. I figure it kicks up free food for the corals and other filter feeders to so I'm happy when it happens.

Keep running the filter pads and it'll go away after a while. If you're never had one in the system, it can be quite a mess for a little while. I personally really like the guys and they do a great job of cleaning up the sand bed. Sometimes too good of a job, especially in the initial few weeks.

They are cool fish. Worth the mess.

Yes very cool. I have a yellow watchman goby to and he's tiny compared to the dimond goby and it like the yellow is trying to mock the dimond fun tobwatch
