Hello everyone. I'm rather new to reefing but not new to aquaria. I was a freshwater and freshwater planted guy for many years until I was finally convinced to give reefing a shot. This is my first crack at trying saltwater and it definitely has been a challenging and rewarding endeavor.

Here's my young 120 gallon tank. Setup back in early November, but here is how it looks as of today. Please forgive the photos. I really need to find a way to take better mobile photos. The blue lights are hard to work with.

Well first, an official welcome to R2R and to the salty side. For your first reef tank, I'll say you are off to a great start - it looks great. Congrats. Looking forward to watching this one mature.

Thanks. It's the first thing people see when they coming into my home. Aesthetics are very important to my wife and myself. It took us like 2 weeks just to find the right ATO disguise lol.

For fish I have 2 blue/green chromis, a pair of clowns, a yellow tank, a one spot foxface, a bicolor dotty back, a flame hawkfish and various snails. Not sure yet what comes next.

For corals it will be a mix thank. Right now a have 2 small sps frags, a green stylophora, and an acropora of some kind. For LPS I have a small duncan colony and aussie gold torch, two candy cane frags and an acan frag. My softies are some gsp, a red mushroom and armor of god zoa/paly.

Sounds like a great start and aesthetics are extremely important as my old lady wasn’t going to let me put a tank in our living room without it being pleasing to the eye. Shoot we tore down a wall and opened our living room up and designed our entire living space with the tank in mind. Following along!!

Today the ATO bucket got an upgrade. Out with the 5G bucket and in with the 10G mini brute. Got some funny looks at Lowe’s walking out with a baby trash can lol. This should get me around a week before refills.

A hollow round end table thing we found at Home Goods for perfect concealment.

Been a long time since I updated this thread. Here is a shot of my tank just 2 weeks shy of 2 years old. I'm not a massive coral collector but I do take care of the select few I liked enough to aquire. The gold torch being on my favorites. It's mesmerizing to watch it flowing in the tank.

Thanks for the update. The tank is maturing nicely...congratulations.
