I have a pair of the oddest clown.. from all the reading I have done.. rock flowers are not suppose to host clowns.. well my clowns are not giving it a choice lol.. it dont seem to mind after about 3 hours ... it opened fully and letting clowns rub on it.. unless it a bait and switch thing..and it is just preparing its meal ...

Nah, some clowns just seem so eager to find a host they will take the closest looking thing to a natural host, I find this especially true w/ maroons and clarkis, though others will too.
Just be careful your rock flower nems are big enough and don't get loved to death

Yeah clowns will even jump in with a hammer or torch. Some clowns are just sluts and will jump in with anything.
I wish mine were that easy.... bta hammer xenia but they love the powerhead for some reason

ocellaris clownfish .. have a mated pair..
Ive never heard of ocellaris clowns in a rock anemone but that sounds pretty cool lol. I wish mine would go in their anemone

Are you possibly using Vodka for dosing? If you stop with the vodka the clown will sober up and likely by quite ashamed by its behavior. We've all been there... sobering up to find an inflatable doll and a massage stick. [emoji6]

Mine are funny.. I have had the BTA before the clowns.. added clowns and they didnt even notice the BTA.. then one day they just found it.. but they also love on my duncan.. now a rock nem lol.. goofy lil things lol

Mine used a rock for a long time..when they was smaller.. now lol.. anything new that flows..they are all over it.
Are the rock anemones relatively easy to keep? I may get one to see if my ocellaris percula pair will like it

easy to keep yes.. but the rock nem is not suppose to be host... im just afraid they will love it to death.. but after lights went out.. they both went to normal host.. (bta). So im hoping they leave rock nem alone today..

Theyre probably just trying out the new addition then

When I first got the lil clowns.. I tried to get them to use BTA as host.. and gave up.

BTA is not a natural host match for occs, not that your rock flowers are either, they are just confused, they may find it, especially since it will most likely be bigger and a better home

Agreed.. not natural host.. natural host is hard to keep for me..they found the bta..about 2 months ago.. it is sorta large bta..when fully spread out.. would say 6 inches or so..just to bad it made its home on back of a rock lol.. I have even tried to get it to move...using power head.. it just shrinks up and rides it out.. must think its a storm an will pass :-)
