Dino’s? Diatoms? Stringy Brown Algae

I’m new to the reef tank world and it looks like I’m already dealing with my first problem! My tank is a couple months old and I can’t figure out what this stuff is. My main regret is not going black on the tank for awhile prior to the addition of a couple soft corals. (Since reducing light has been effective).

The snails seem to be leaving trails and eating this stuff but it is starting to stick to my corals and I feel like it is starting to suffocate them. I would like some identification since as right now I’m planning on adding some bacteria like vibrant or dr Tim’s in order to combat the problem. Any help/suggestions would be awesome!

Kind of looks like diatoms on your sand and cyano on your rocks.

PH is around 8.0 - 8.2

Edit: I used natural sea water to start off this tank. I have just recently started using a RO system and making my own saltwater. Though I haven't made any changes with the new water yet, mainly because I saw a video that recommended not doing water changes when dealing with a Dino bloom.

What are your phosphates? Bad things happen when nutrients bottom out

Phosphate were nearly zero as well. I'm current making some adjustments to these parameters but I'm trying my best to be cautious. Adding some more nutrients and making making small water changes seem to be doing the trick. Also, I've adding some more troops to the cleanup crew (Hermits) and they are just annilihating this stuff.

Hey Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I have exactly this same stuff in my tank, it's only a few months old. OP did you managed to confirm if this is dinos or diatoms? Also how did you approach removal? TIA.
