Dino cure...

Just wanted to give an update.

I had the worst dinos. Would come home and have a matte of bubbly dinos on my sand bed where it was lifting onto the rocks.

I tried microbacter 7, dosing Plankton, nothing worked. Leaving the tank dirty and raised nutrients didn’t help.

Then I plumbed a UV sterilizer straight into display, coming out and back in on its own Jebao return pump.

Fast forward a few weeks and this is where I’m at coming home from a days work... white sand bed!!!!!

I’m not out of the woods yet as I see little brown dust inside the sand. But the snotty dinos is not elevating into water like before . Just my progress

For certain types of dino (those that go back to the water column after lights out, ie osteopsis) UV is extremely effective given the right wattage and flow. I just finished successful treatment myself with UV similar to you, after other methods have not been effective.

Just posting a follow up.

DINOS are officially cured. I noticed today that there is some light green hair algae on one of my rocks. This is a good tale sign when fighting DINOS, as what i've read.

Just when i was thinking of breaking down my tank to restart over and give up..

Again, patience is key in the hobby.
 
Uv did it for me too! I went through all the same steps as you before getting one. I keep it hooked up in my sump now for some added insurance. Before and after shots, sorry about the blues didn't have a blue light filter before I added the uv.

UV worked for me as well with Ostreopsis. I also manually cleaned the rockwork 1-2x a day, upped the temp to 82, dosed MB7, and changed floss 2x per day.
