thanks guys, So for ostreopsis, reduce nutrients (feeding) and change carbon more frequently right? any other suggestions?

You need nutrients for dino competitors to take over. Make sure you have measurable nitrates and phosphates.

Ostreopsis can be anhiliated with UV. You’ll want to run at least 1 watt of UV per every 3 gallons of tank water. Run from DT back to DT with 1-3 tank volumes per hour runnng through the unit.

Also should I continue to dose phyto or halt it?
I would stop dosing phyto and stop any nutrient reducers like gfo, carbon dosing, etc. you can also minimize toxins by running GAC and replacing weekly for now.

Otsreopsis pops grow when the nutrients are high in a bloom though, before I got it under the microscope and ID'd it yesterday I was feeding heavy and that only made it worse

You want high nutrients + UV. I'd go for phosphates of 0.08 and nitrates of 15 ppm.

Everything grows more when you feed it more.

We’ve had lots of successes with the recipe I provided. You are lucky. Ostreopsis is an easy one.

There is some thought that how you achieve the elevated nutrients matters. It may be best to use non organic forms to elevate NO3 and PO4. IE, use NO3 and PO4 supplements instead of trying to increase the levels by feeding more. There are several ways to dose these with non organic sources. These are the two I use.

Get the UV though. It can literally eliminate ostreopsis over night.

Alright guys i'm feeding frozen now (which i never do) to raise nutrients, and I stopped phyto. Changing carbon every week now until they are reduced. Any other tips?

These methods that are propping in forums for elevating no3 and po4 by overfeeding and turning off skimmers baffles me...
Such a bad advice in my openion, if elevating no3 and po4 is your goal why not doing it in a targeted way instead of messing the whole system biological filtration...
I have yet to see someone who run decent reef and have done this himself or herself and succeeded..

Sorry for the rant.
