So I ordered a microscope but still can’t seem to get a good pic. This is at 400x
Any ideas which strain? I have a video but can’t upload it here. It doesn’t show much though. There’s not a lot of movement

Looks like a green alga rather than a dinoflagellate.

Do they magically disappear when lights off and then reappear when lights on?

I could never identify mine but whatever they were, would leave the substrate and rock so I used UV, changed socks daily before lights on, dosed bacteria and phyto.

In 3 weeks, noticed way less. In 6 weeks go. Have never returned.

pretty easy to target that water column stuff with UV.

Not dinos. Maybe chrysophytes?

No they remain in the sand at night. I continually run UV already and have been dosing MB7 about a week. Gonna also get back on phyto and pods when my order comes in.
They seem to be receding quite a bit
