Hey guys, I've dealt with amphidinium before in my nano but am currently going through some sort of bloom in my new 93. I don't believe they are amphidinium but couldn't find anything that matched. What do you guys think? I pulled these samples from the sand bed, it came off like a thin piece of brownish film.

not sure what the images are showing but if you describe it as a film on the surface of the sand and it has a brown color it is likely cyanobacteria.

TY! Dealing with the same thing!

manual removal works well for the large areas that develop on sand bed. New tanks often suffer from it but it goes away over time; established tanks with cyano problems should address what underlying water chemistry may be causing it to continue to proliferate.

Siphon away as much as you can and do a Very low light or blackout (tank lights off 0 for 3-5 days. Add 1ml of hydrogen Peroxide per 10 gallons daily and you will see it go away.
