Hi,

I've been lurking for ages this forum. I was postponing getting a microscope, so I've treated my tank for cyano, etc. Finally got one and those are my pictures. I bought a 36W UV filter for my 80 gallon that is on it's way. My parameters were always low, nitrates and phosphates, actually zero most of the time. My corals are still ok except from some zoas and a GSP not opening. I have a video as well, I can try to post it if it will help.

Thanks in advance.

My battle started with some dirty sandbed that I thought would be diatoms, checked for silicates everywhere, every source was zero or close to zero Then, some GHA was on the backglass, I took the shortest route, dosed Algaefix and after that I got cyano, then I treated it with chemiclean. Since I was getting algae even with my tests constantly showing zero. I've added GFO and Pellets...that was the last boom...Dinos took over. To my conclusion, the brown issue on sandbed were always Dino waiting for an imbalance to take over. So, I ve done everything Dinos like...harsh treatments and starved my tank with 2 reactors...

Now, I'm trying to ID my Dino, I have an UV coming, I'm reducing my skimmer from 24h/7 to 12h a day, feeding more, refugium with chaeto reducing from 18h (reverse photo) to 4h only. I will be dosing biodigest once a week as well for competition. Stopped water changes.

My plan is to when the UV arrives, I will start a 2 days blackout.

Last resource, I will dose H2O2...

One question that I have, should I get rid of my chaeto for a while?
