Following on from my previous thread now that I have checked under a microscope I’m certain I have Dino’s.

Anyone give me an ID?? I have had Osteropsis this year which UV cleared up however it may have come back but looks slightly different this time so might be another strain. Does seem to be a lot worse in the evenings and better in the mornings so might still just be Osteropsis. I am running UV in the sump currently but if it is I’ll move it back to the tank. I have started lights off for a few days tonight. I’m already dosing hydrogen peroxide at 1ml/10gal.

Any help would be appreciated!!

probably large cell amphidinium dinos. Prorocentrum less likely, I think.

Okay thanks and I’m guessing silicate dosing is the answer? If so how does it work once the silicates deplete and the diatoms go away won’t it just come back? Surely there would still be some Dino’s in the tank somewhere for a new bloom?
