been battling dino's for some time now, i tried peroxide(didn't work), 3 or 5 day lights out seems to cause it to decrease drasticly. How long should i wait before doing another lights out that would be safe for a mixed reef (mainly lps and softies)? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doing blackouts will appear to knock them back, but it ends up causing them to switch to heterotrophy instead of autotrophy, so it doesn't do much other than slow them down temporarily. Dinos suck :(

I've been doing a five day blackout every other Monday through Friday with no ill effects, but then again my tank is rather sparsely populated.
