For awhile I been getting this stringy algae, I thought it may be diatoms, but after doing some research I think it may be Dino. Everything used to be covered w/ the stringy algae including the live rocks. It seems to be slowly going away though.

Could this be Dino?

My guess would be cyno bacteria ...but without seeing it under a microscope ...its hard too tell ....could be dinos ...what are the tank parameters ..??? No3 po4 ..???

A microscope would be very useful!

My guess is that it is dino's based on the snotty appearance and that it isn't forming dense mats but it could be cyano since there are so many different strains of each.

I'm also going to guess that PO4 is undetectable...

This is new tank uglies and can be siphoned away. Cerith and nassarius snail will help turn gravel. Make sure also that your phosphates aren't climbing
