Hi Everyone,
I think its Dino as I cant keep snails alive. Had this since multi power outages had an effect on my biomass while away on vacation.

I also get brown/red powdery coating on the sand bed, dont really get bubbles but then I vacuum it often. its growing into my birdsnest and killing it. I have tried black outs. Nitrate on the way down at 10ppm and PO4 at .06 highest. But first I need to figure out if its Dino? I am assuming yes as my healthy urchin perished and snails and cucs and hairs die within days. But thought would see if this was the majority conscientious?

Odd. It doesn’t look like the typical Dino.
Is it snotty in person?

I’d def run some aggressive carbon or purigen for the toxin if it is.

Most of what we are asking with Dino’s is blooms being sparked by no3 or Po4 limitation , depending on the species , but you seem to have both available in the system.

My gut would say check your water source, the two kinds of strange is odd.

How long ago was the outage ? That possibly have sparked an ammoina source or die off some where.

Yep definite ammonia spike went from 0.01 on the Seneye to 0.005 I tracked it for 2 weeks until it got back to 0.01. After that the hair started, ny No3 went up to .25 and my PO4 up to .15, now got them under control so dealing with the hiar issues.

I am pretty sure its toxic Dino so am about to embark on Fauna Marine Dino X, its that or strip the tank which is a non option.

Do you folks have a scope ? The giant dino thread has a few folks good at I’d.

But yea , he basics are kill as much as possible (peroxide dino x UV Holy HandGrenade of Antioch ) and stabilize the system so it’s not a suitable environment. Like in a P04 limited system. That’s the only reason to look at what caused the bloom.
