Hi all I've been experiencing a Dino outbreak I've been trying to rid it for a couple weeks now any suggestions on wiping it out without completely tearing the tank apart? Thanks in advance!

I recently set up a tank that's going through it. I'm slowly winning the battle, but it takes a lot of work. You'll want to get phosphates and nitrates in check. I increased weekly water changes, added phosphate remover and reduced feedings. It's slowly dying out.

Your best bet is to do a quick search...there are threads hundreds of pages long with different methods of ridding a tank of dinos. The one thing that turned the corner for my battle was the installation of a large UV unit. They are still not totally gone, but now I don't have to do a lights out every other week along with daily siphoning. I have tried every non-chemical method.....no one method will work alone.

Ok appreciate it guys I'm gonna start dosing peroxide and black out tonight and pick up a large UV to help keep it away if that method works and buy a tub of carbon heard that helps with the process...and dmh I kno it sucks but heard water changes are very bad when dealing with our problem the Dino feeds off the nutrients from adding your salt water back in said to try just using kalk to up the ph other than that your right on the nitrate and phospate

I would like to see an image to confirm that you are indeed dealing with dino. If you're adding any supplemental amino acid products I would discontinue those and see if the problem gets better.

Why would you need a picture, we all know what a Dino looks like its pretty hard to miss them, huge body large teeth? LOL

Oh and the only way I know to treat them is to take out all living creatures (fish, invertebrates, coral) and dose the tank with copper and then dose your fish with copper (I don't know if that will work ask some more experienced people)

Yup unfortunately I have to say you have dinos.
Tough to beat and drastic measures will be needed.

I will try to dig up my buddys thread that he made about beating those.
