Been having problems with algae and gha cyano or Dino I dossed flucazonal and it got rid of the majority of the gha I keep cleaning the sand and rocks off and it keeps coming back if I start this tank over drain it clean it out refill it what would I have to do to the rocks to make sure Dino doesn't get re introduced and the Frags I have in there now would they all have to be tossed out I do have a 8 gal running as well

Denis can come back no matter what. Switch the flow around a bit and check your nutrient levels. It doesn't look like a tear down and restart problem yet. If you have fish in the tank you could remove them and stop feeding anything in the tank for a while. After the algea burns up the nutrients it will all die off.

It just looks like everything is shrinking up my condy is super small looks like he's dying off my bta is shriveling up my hammer coral so frustrating

have you tested for ammonia? you not dosing vibrant?
I had die off after the flucon too. mostly annoying the other alges grew on the extra nutrients.
as much as folks freak on dino, some folks actually feed them to their tanks. but if there's an imbalance or lack of competition for food and minerals you get blooms. Seems VERY common esp in dry rock tanks that lacks any natural competition or bio diversity..

I haven't tested today test for ammonia but will do in a couple I did not dose vibrant just flucazonal

All Params are good zero amm zero nitrate ph 8.4
Its weird it is effecting the corals so harshly. Are you running activated carbon? (probably should) Did you add any gfo recently?

I am not the only thing I was running was chemi pure blue and before I dossed flucazonal I removed it I'm in my second dose of flucazonal for 14 days I did a five gal water change before adding the second dose

Not heard of folks dosing it like that. What was the dose per gallon? Was it only gha? It has not been proven(as far as I have seen) for stuff other than some strains of gha and all bryopsis.

It was 220 mg per 10 gal from a thread in this forum
It was for bryopsis and gha
Ah got it. Yea thats the dose. A redose was to finish off the gha I assume.
Obviously, if the corals are suffering it may be time to remove the Flucon, as either the algae dying, or the possible dinos are effecting them.. Kinda my guess.

i dosed flucazonal to rid my tank of Briopsys and GHA and it worked great but immediately after it erradicated the bri i had a terrible dino outbreak. Reducing the light and feeding in addition to a small water change the dino growth is starting to slow down. Hopefully, i can get rid of it completely....Fingers crossed.

SALTYFILMFOLKS helped me through my issues and is a great resource on this site!
