Hi i am new to this group. I have been suffering with dino for few months now. I thought I had defeated it but I think it is in my system still. Could anybody give me any guidance as to how and overcome this as I am on the verge of shutting down my tank and getting out of the hobby. Picture below is mt reefer 250, its not bad at the min but i get a brown film that covers mt wier and a brown film on my glass when i scrape.

Thanks guys

I think I have the same thing. I get a brown film on my sand every time my lights go on. Idk what to do. I tried water change and going lights out for 3 days but it still comes back on my sand. It’s like a layer of brown. Idk if it’s Dino or cyano any thoughts? Interested in hearing other people’s thoughts thanks !

Do you have access to a microscope? Getting a positive ID on the type of dinos you are battling will help direct you in the cure.

Certain species of dinos are very susceptible to UV sterilization and lowering of NO3/PO4 levels but not dropping them to zero, while others are more easily combated with raising your nutrient levels to around 10 ppm NO3/.1-.2 PO4. Check out the thread linked above.
