Hello guys!
I'm new in this forum. I'm a aquarist from Brazil, and i'm fighting this annoying algae since the last three months. Many aquarists told me that they are dinoflagellates, but they don't seem to be it. They seems to be hairy algae. What do you think?
Since last week i'm mantaining my PH at 8.4 ~8.6 and every night i am dropping about 1ml/10 galons of h2o2. I dont have done any water changes for two weeks, because when I do it seems that they increase a lot..

Any ideas??

Looks like hair algae. I would get an old toothbrush and remove as much as you can. Are you using rodi water? Normal water changes generally should not make the algae grow.

Yes, i use ro/di. Tds 000.
I have decreased the white light period to just 4 hours per day. And i try every day remove it but they appear again on the next day..
I have no phosphate nor nitrate. And i am running an ATS for one month and it seems to be working.. But these algae remains on the display..

I agree GHA. I don't see any bubbles on it either. With it all there realistically you do have phos and nitrate. It's just all being consumed by the algae to the point that it can't be tested for. How much of a CUC do you have?

I have about 80 hermit, 30 snails, 4 peppermint shrimp, 10 crystal shrimp, one blue tuxedo urchin and one blenny rock algae. It dont look like they eat these algae.

PO4 #?

I am using Sera po4 test and it mark 0 po4. I also tested my ro/di water and it also marks 0 po4.. Some time ago i tested with a red sea test in a LFS and got the same results.

Yes. The only place I have dinos are on hair algae in my tank. Microscope confirmed. Rarely any bubbles.
That explain why they look like hair algae but sometimes appear some bubbles on the end of the filaments. Thank you!
I am cleaning and brushing every day and it seems to be working, and i am keeping my ph at 8.6, kh 10 and magnesium above 1500
