So I think I've been awarded the pleasure of having Dino...
i do need to change my RO filters
And have not checked my tds in my makeup water.
Perameters
1.025
8 dkh
450 calcium
0 phosphates
0 nitrates
0 ammonia or nitrites
I had a large snail die that I didn't see for a while so I'm aware that there lies a nutrient issue and that my nitrates and phosphates are getting rapidly sucked up by my "Dino"
Temp 79
Lights are on a 9 hour cycle with t5 6 bulb ati fixture
Skimming wet

Not sure I HAVE Dino's or just some type of brown algae? what i have doesn't exactly have the characteristics of Dino but the stuff is spreading around. Has no bubbles that I can see. Isn't exactly snotty but hairy.

What do you think? I can't get the greatest of pics

I cannot tell from the pictures (to blue to tell) but if it is brown and snotty looking with bubbles coming off of it then it is definitely Dinos[emoji20]

That's the thing that's confusing me it's not snotty and no bubbles. But some of it is clustered..

Then it is probably just diatoms that may be feeding on small undetectable amounts of nutrients in your system

I've been trying to get a better pic. All I have to use is an iPhone. My tank is pretty blue. I will say I did a water change yesterday and syphoned out s ton of this stuff and scraped the back glass and it already looks to be coming back

I stumbled across this pic in my research and this is exactly what it looks like up close (Lyngbya)
Lyngbya is a type of cyano and can be killed off the same way typical red cyano is taken care of. I still have to get after this stuff but I'm happy to say I at least have a direction to fight in... Thanks everyone
