Well, I'm here again with dinos. The tank is a year and a half old and I thought dinos were behind me. I went through Prorocentrum and small cell amphidinium. Both happened early in the tank and nutrients buttomed out. After a year and a few months, the tank stated to hit its stride. My coralline growth has been really nice lately and the tank supports coral. I have a decent bit but far from even filling my 75. Recently, I've noticed my pH going a bit lower than usual by .1-.2 and that made me look closer. I noticed some brown on the sand. Not really strands this time and I don't notice bubbles. Took a sample under the cheap old microscope I have and yep, dinos but not sure which. Looks different than the last two times. The only differences in the last month when I started noticing them was I've started using RedSea AB+ daily for a month now, increased water changes to every week, 10-15% with tropic marin pro, and added new coral from different vendors. My nutrients never bottomed out. The lowest they were in the last few weeks was .10 phosphates using hanna checker and about 4ppm nitrates using red sea kit. I've backed off water changes because I didn't want to bottom out (PTSD lol) and skipped a week. Feeding a little heavier and stopped AB+ in case. Currently, Phosphates back around at .25 and nitrates at 6-8ppm now. Still running skimmer. My tank was doing fine at these higher levels before and I increased water changes lately to get phosphates/nitrates a little lower. Never bottomed though as I mentioned. Fish seem fine, coral seems fine, and coralline growth this past month was really nice. My tank was never really making a ton of coralline until a month or two ago when everything seemed to hit its groove. So that's my story. Here are the best pics I have so far. Any ideas? It doesn't seem as terrible as the other strains except my ph seems to be suffering a bit when they showed up.
