in regards to an algae outbreak. what the heck is this crap? Its brown, stringy and ugly as heck. nothing is eating it or really going near it for that matter. I'm debating if should get a cheap microscope to help identify it? I will post pics here shortly. Take is 8-9 months old. I have 2 clowns, a hawkfish, tang, chromis as my fish thus far. Corals I have a candy cane, 4 acons (spelling?), green slimmer SPS, blue something or another sps, frogspawn, hammer, plate coral, birdsnest, zoas, kenya tree, and a few shrooms i missed when i attempted to banish them from my tank. its a 100 gal tank. 60long x 16in x 24in deep. I have LED lights. a 25 gal sump, and a cheato reactor. I just started GFO 2 days ago and its maybe half a cups worth, (started low plus was all I had left, i have gotten more just have not added any) I also have about 2 cups of carbon in a filter bag in sump that I change every 4 weeks. I do 20gal water changes every 3weeks unless needed sooner. I have 80lbs sand and 125lbs of rock. I QT all fish for min 30days but just dip all corals in bayer x 10mins. Reading thru this forum has scared the crap out of me lol. Especially if it is dino. Its brown filament hairy like algae. Its on my rocks as well as back glass. what the heck is this crap?? Thanks
