Dino's growing on my Sinularia, will it live?

I picked up this Sinularia on Sunday. I'm fighting a bit of a Dino issue (I believe) and it is irritating my coral. I had it in a low flow area of the tank, but Dino's are growing on it. Moved it to an area that received slightly more flow to try and prevent some of the Dino growth, but wondering if it is too much. I was warned by the seller it will detach if in too high flow of an area. Does this look OK from a flow standpoint, and how long will it tolerate the Dino's before dying. I also bought some Zoas but they are not having the same issue. In a higher flow area though.

Coral was about twice the size when I first put it in my tank, and had a "fuzzy" look to it. Now shrunk and smooth.

I have a number of soft corals and was fighting dino's for months. The dino's seemed to affect pointy hard corals much more than soft corals. The dino's collected on the pointy hard coral ends and would kill that part of the coral. I would blow all of them off with a turkey baster multiple times a day and it didn't seem to hurt the softies. They might close up and shed more than normal though.

Yeah I was trying with a turkey blaster but it’s been difficult to get them all off. Appreciate the insight

It looks fine to me. My sinularias do the same. It looks like yours is getting ready to through on a wax coating. If so, don't expect it to show its polyps for several days to weeks while it does it thing.

You may want to consider turning off at least the white lights or all lights for 3-5 days and dose 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons at night and same dose of liquid bacteria during the day and also clean filters daily and Dino will vanish

Thanks for your input, just worried the Dinos will keep growing on it unless I can't get it under control.

I tried blowing it off but it won't come off with Turkey baster. I saw some advice you gave in a thread earlier and bookmarked it. I believe the Dinos started due to me bottoming out my Nitrates and Phosphates. Have been dosing NeoNitro and NeoPhos. Got the Nitrate up to a stable 2.5 ish with 1ml daily dosing. Phosphate still at 0 after 2ml dose yesterday. Bumped to 3 today.

Do you think once the phosphates rise the Dinos will stop, will I need to take the more active approach you outlined above. If the more active approach, and idea how the Microbacter 7 & hydrogen peroxide will impact the dosing of the Neo Nitro & Phos?

had a similar dinos problem, affecting my soft corals a lot. To fix the issue i installed a UV sterilizer. As soon as i installed it, went dark for 2 days. Haven't seen that type of dinos since. Soft corals all back to being open all the time.

I've seen this reccomendation a lot. Unfortuntly, this is a desktop nano and I dont have enough sump compartments in the back to add one.

Could you borrow a UV to install temporary? Once you solve your problem...just a thought.

Are you sure it’s dinos? I had a dino problem earlier this year while I was also battling cyano. I did it all to fight the dinos and eventually had success, but it wasn’t until I did a round of chemiclean that my Sinularia perked back up. Just a thought.

Its a good idea. I'll look into it if I can get it under control via other methods.

To be fair I'm a new reefer so not 100%, but I'm fairly certain. I turned off my white light to try and help slow the growth, but if (more likely when) it grows back more today I'll try and take a picture and post it.

Do you have access to a microscope? That’s the best way to confirm you have dinos and the only way to determine which specie of dino it is.

No I don't. Does each species require a different method to get rid of them?
