Dinos! I need advice

I did have nitrate and phosphate at 0 for too long which got me into the mess. I looked at them under the microscope and confirmed that it was Dino’s, at least initially. I have scrubbed those rocks at least 15 times, but they keep coming back. I will give it a little more time and try to keep everything stable as possible
Prepare by starting with a water change and blow this stuff loose with a turkey baster and siphon up loose particles.
Turn lights off (at least white and run blue at 10-15% IF you have light dependant corals) for 5 days and at night dose 1ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons for all 5 nights. If you dont have light dependent coral- turn all lights off.
During the day dose 1ml of liquid bacteria (such as bacter 7 or XLM) per 10 gallons.
Clean filters daily and DO NOT FEED CORAL FOODS OR ADD NOPOX as it is food for dinos.
Day 5,, you can start with blue lights - ramping up and work your white lights up slowly

I will give it a shot. Thanks

I tried Dino X for several days ( once every 2 days as called for in the instructions). Did not seem to help much

From those photos , they dont look like Dinos. I know because i have been dealing with them for 2 months now. Its way more slimey, boogery like than that Have you tried a microscope?

I have tried a microscope and they look exactly like all the pictures I’ve seen on the Internet
IF thats the case, the only thing that worked for me was this, Along with a 3 days blackout

good luck

Don’t you love all the comments from people who didn’t even bother to read your original post?

I had a similar experience to you - what worked for me was a UV (very common cure for dino’s and other nastiness) and a round of chemiclean. The dino’s or cyano or whatever I had was gone and stayed gone. A UV isn’t cheap and they are big and may not be an option for you but they work.

It’s something you haven’t tried yet at any rate, good luck!

Oh yeah - feed heavy! It’s the best way to keep nutrients up and your fish and corals will appreciate it.

Hey, thanks for the follow up.
Actually, I have been using a UV sterilizer for several months. It has not seemed to help any. I have been dosing Dino X and it does seem to have helped. I get the rocks clear, slowly turn up the lights, and start getting growth again. However, this time I think it is algae. I have a new CUC on the way to help with that.
